Marimekko Fall Collection + Favorite Color Combos

Each season I become fixated on certain color combinations and love using them to create new and interesting outfits. Now that we are heavily into the fall season, my attention has turned to deep, dark, inky shades of blue, plummy purples, and accents of coral and marigold. These dresses from Marimekko's fall clothing collection exemplify everything I am currently craving! And they are perfectly paired with the vibrant and cozy interiors culled from my inspiration files. So what's your favorite? The navy and violet shown above?

Or how about marigold and plum...

Teal and coral...

Or perhaps fuchsia, aubergine, and an accent of crisp apple green...

All pretty yummy, don't you think?!

Tuesday Eye Candy, Part 2: Pink and Paisley

I get the feeling this may be a teenager's very chic bedroom, but I would happily (happily!) take it for my own. Give me a pink velvet daybed covered with ikat pillows and a glossy patent leather side chair any day!

Tuesday Eye Candy... New Fall Louboutins

I'll take a pair of each, size 37... thanks!

Inspired Vintage Jewelry - Elva Fields

Did any of you see Elva Fields' amazing re-worked vintage jewels over at Oh Joy! this week? I was immediately blown away by the creativity of the necklaces and haven't been able to stop looking at them since. I love the idea of taking vintage brooches and combining them with new materials in interesting ways. I bet Michelle Obama would go crazy for these pieces, what with her love for sparkling and playful pins. Really, the collection is so inspiring... I have a feeling I will be doing some serious hunting at the flea markets this weekend!

Mr. Boddington's New Website

Mr. Boddington's Studio is one of my favorite invitation design firms. They have just launched a fabulous new website which is chock full of wedding - and baby shower and holiday - eye candy. I particularly love their custom-lined envelopes (such divine patterns!) and gorgeous handwritten fonts. So much wonderful inspiration, and so many tempting invites to order! Do check out their site for much, much more...

Coveting... The Most Glamorous Bedroom

I can't get enough of this room. Seriously, I want every minute of my life to look like this - all shimmering velvets and graphic zig zags and gorgeous art and sparkling lights and luscious colors. Heavenly!

Emma Mitchell Photography

The vignette at the top is the best. One could base a whole wedding around the colors and objects in the first image. So pretty, don't you think?! See more of Emma Mitchell's work here...

Tuesday Eye Candy... Fuzzy Donkeys

Anyone who knows me knows that I have a soft spot for animals of all kinds, but donkeys are really at the top of the list. They are just so gentle and wise... and adorable. Someday I hope to live in a place where I can keep one or two of my very own. If you can believe it, I had actually hired a donkey to appear in my engagement photo shoot last week, but alas scheduling conflicts foiled my plans. Since then, I've had to settle for these gorgeous images from DIY Diva, who is apparently in the market for a miniature donkey herself. Lucky girl!

Birthday Suit!

Being that tomorrow is my birthday, I was thinking about what I might wear out to dinner with my sweetie if money were not an issue. Cassandra over at Coco + Kelley put together her dream b'day ensemble the other day, which inspired me to create my own!

I would go the glamorous 50s route, with a jade satin gathered waist dress (love the lace and tulle details) from Tracy Reese, worn with an embellished gold velvet clutch from Prada and classic black heels by Christian Louboutin. And a sparkling rhodium-plated panther bracelet by Pade Vavra would add just enough bling! Ahh, pretend shopping is so much fun...

Wish List, Part 2: Animal Bust Candles

I am totally obsessed with these animal bust candles from Anthropologie. Sir Rowf, Noble Steed and Mister Rabbit each come atop a resin pillar that can be reused once the original candle has melted. I think they are kooky and slightly macabre, perfect for my Halloween birthday which is tomorrow...

Wish I was wearing this today...

So chic. I have similar pants and necklace, but unfortunately the shearling coat cannot be duplicated with anything from my closet. Via J. Crew, of course...

Wedding Photography - Our Labor of Love by Heidi

Happy Monday, everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting much lately - I've been a bit under the weather and also busy working on some house projects. Anyway, I wanted to give a little wedding update and share with you one of the vendors that will be working with me on my big day!  Heidi from Our Labor of Love is such an amazing photographer. Kevin and I feel ridiculously lucky that she will be capturing all of our wedding moments. This week we are having our engagement photos taken and I literally cannot wait! We have something fun planned, and I look forward to sharing the results with you all. In the meanwhile, take a look at this very small sampling of Heidi's work....
