Lovely in Lilac

Fashion Week is here

Fashion Week in New York begins today, and I can't wait to see the offerings from my favorite designers! Until we see some actual runway looks, I'll have to bide my time drooling over this sketch by Mrs. O-favorite, Jason Wu, from his jewelry collaboration with Swarovski. In the upcoming days, I'll be sharing the best looks from Diane von Furstenberg, Isaac Mizrahi, Carolina Herrera, Zac Posen, Philip Lim, Tracy Reese, or whoever is doing something bold, colorful, and feminine - all the things I like! So, is there anyone you're looking forward to?

A little blue birdie told me...

... where your seat is at the wedding! What an inventive idea. It could even work in place of name tags at a party. I'm totally going to have to steal this idea for my own nuptials...

More Ines... at the Selby

Remember that image of Ines de la Fressange's pink Paris office on the cover of the last issue of Domino magazine? Well, over at The Selby today there are many more views of this fabulous space. It is quite the pink fantasy, with so many wonderful objet d'art to gaze at. I really can't get enough of it! Check out the entire feature here...

Rock Posters from The Small Stakes

My last post got me thinking about (and looking for) cool, graphic posters that could possibly find a home in my bathroom. Since I love indie rock posters, it seemed the right time to see what some of my favorite designers currently have to offer. The Small Stakes designs some of the coolest posters out there - they are so bold and clean-lined, and the super-saturated (almost neon) colors would be the perfect accent hanging next to my sink (or really, anywhere in my house!) The variety shown here cost between $25 and $30 and most are currently in stock. Not bad for the amount of graphic panache they will add to a wall!

Love This Bathroom... Sunny and Mod

I have been trying to figure out what to do with our master bathroom for the longest time. There is nothing wrong with it, but I find the color palette a bit, I don't know... blah. I've tried sprucing it up with a fun shower curtain and light fixture, but what it truly needs is a huge dose of brightness. So this lovely bathroom, recently discovered over at Canadian House & Home, might be the perfect inspiration. In fact, in a couple weeks I might be unveiling its exact doppleganger. Some egg-yolk yellow paint, a simple white stencil, a couple mod prints placed in gallery frames, a few playful white knicknacks - it should not be too hard. And don't they say imitation is the best form of flattery?

Signs of Fall

We're taking a break from our regularly scheduled (i.e. bright and colorful) programming for some warm and earthy interiors with hints and glints of gold. See, it was about 75 degrees today in Philadelphia, and after all the hot and muggy weather we've been having it really felt like the first day of fall. And fall weather calls for fall colors, right? Well, at least for a moment. Tomorrow, I promise I'll be back with the joyously-hued images you have come to expect from me...

Monday Eye Candy

I couldn't stop with these images from the catalog belonging to Rice, a Danish housewares retailer available throughout Europe. Everything is so cheery and fun, and the colors make me immensely happy! There's so much more to see HERE.... have fun looking, and have a great Monday...

Rachel Roy at Macy's

Rachel Roy is one of my favorite fashion designers, so when I heard she was debuting a diffusion line at Macy's, I was definitely intrigued. Perusing the site for Rachel Rachel Roy, I discovered some eye-popping prints - right now I'm dying for the limited edition graffiti trench (they are each one-of-a-kind and tagged to order) priced at $250. What a great statement piece for fall! The bold, colorful dresses are super desirable as well, and perfect for a night on the town. But the most versatile piece (for me at least) might be that fab draped sequin skirt - it would be amazing dressed down for day with a gray sweater and black tights and boots. Yum...

Must Have: Kate Spade Owl Purse

Ok, I want to make it very clear... I do not collect owls. For instance, you will not find a set of bookshelves in my house with a whimsical array of owl salt shakers, owl dolls, owl toothpick holders and so on. But having said all this, I do like owls very much! And this owl purse from Kate Spade makes me swoon with desire! It is so "luxe vintage/boho chic," but with a huge dose of playfulness. I absolutely must have it for fall, and I guarantee that it will be carried with everything in my wardrobe. The question is when it will be available on the website!! Hmm, maybe I will have to make a trip to NYC and stalk the Soho store. Anyway, here's Mister Owl again in all his glory...

P.S. Do you like the hippie fringe thing, but without the face staring at you all the time? How about this little clutch then, also from Ms. Spade...

Tres chic, and it's on sale too!  A good compromise, don't you think?
