Loveleigh Invitations

Are these not the sweetest wedding invitations? I love the original color combination of tangerine, blue and pink, and the porcupines in love make for such an quirky and adorable logo. Designed by the immensely talented Cheyenne of Loveleigh Invitations, the invites truly reflect the style and interests of the fantastic bride and groom. And lucky me, the ladies at Loveleigh are designing my wedding invitations too! Just wait until you see the save-the-dates we are working on... they are so, so good. Here's another recent examples of their lovely work...

White Sofas, or, Things I Want That I'll Never Have...

I suspect I will never own a white sofa. Despite my desire to someday have one in my house, my three black cats have conspired to prevent it from happening. I hate that feeling of wanting something and knowing I can never have it (well, at least as long as these three felines - whom I love very much - still walk the earth...). It's one thing not to be able to afford something, but to be denied a sparkling, white seating area just because one's pets choose to shed fur and emit various unpleasant fluids all the time... well, that's not fair.

I guess I will just have to continue living vicariously through images such as the examples shown here. So, is there something you want for your house but know you will never have the opportunity to own? Come on, let's commiserate together!

French Paper Company Posters

French Paper Company is an American paper mill that produces printing, stationary, craft and gift papers - my graphic designer turned me on to them as we are selecting the stock for my wedding save-the-dates. Anyway, while I was perusing the site I came across these wonderful promotional posters that they have recently made available to the public.  I think they are pretty delightful! Definitely perfect for a child's room, or if you are like me, you'll want them for any room in your house....

NY Fashion Week Day 4: Tracy Reese

I want every one of these dresses from Tracy Reese's Spring 2010 collection....

New Sponsor + John Derian Giveaway!

I am so excited to announce that Peacock Feathers has its first featured sponsor in Petulia's Folly, a fantastic clothing and home accessories shop located in Philadelphia. I have professed my love for this store on more than one occasion, so to have them advertise on my blog is a real thrill!  For those of you who ever have the chance to visit Philly, stopping in Petulia's Folly is a must. In addition to their amazing collection of wares from the likes of Alexander Wang, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Rachel Comey, Clu, Hanii Y, Pade Vavra, and John Derian, they also have the most wonderfully art directed-displays... like this...

Of course, those of you not in the area can shop Petulia's Folly too, via their awesome e-commerce site. There are many desirable goodies to be found... I'm currently obsessing over the vintage circus elephant coat hooks and the Pade Vavra Indian headdress pin, to name just a few! (p.s. don't forget to check out the sale section...)

To celebrate their featured sponsorship, Petulia's Folly has been kind enough to sponsor my first fall giveaway. One lucky Peacock Feathers reader will win the AMAZING John Derian domed paper weight shown below, which is certain to be an incredibly chic addition to your coffee table or desk! You guys already know how obsessed I am with Mr. Derian's work, and this particular design is close to my heart...

A proud peacock indeed! So, what do you have to do to win this guy? Simply head over to Petulia's Folly's website and take note of your favorite items, then comment on this post telling me about which two items you loved the most. Only one comment per reader please, and I'll do a random drawing on Monday, September 21.

Good luck, everyone! And thanks to Petulia's Folly!

Fashion Week Day 2: Jason Wu... a/k/a My Dream Wedding Wardrobe

I'm not sure any show this season will top for me the one put on by Jason Wu on Friday. The color combinations, the use of embellishment and the luxe materials are just divine. As l daydreamed over look after look, all I could think was that this is my dream wedding wardrobe... f I were super rich that is! One of the darling little ivory dresses above would be perfection to change into for the wedding reception (or might be perfect for a destination wedding...), don't you think? Meanwhile, I'll let the bridesmaids wear these numbers....

Hmm, these would be good for the engagement party, bridal shower, and rehearsal dinner....

Oh, and I'll take these on the honeymoon!! Thanks Mr. Wu for designing my perfect trousseau...

Lovely in Lilac

Fashion Week is here

Fashion Week in New York begins today, and I can't wait to see the offerings from my favorite designers! Until we see some actual runway looks, I'll have to bide my time drooling over this sketch by Mrs. O-favorite, Jason Wu, from his jewelry collaboration with Swarovski. In the upcoming days, I'll be sharing the best looks from Diane von Furstenberg, Isaac Mizrahi, Carolina Herrera, Zac Posen, Philip Lim, Tracy Reese, or whoever is doing something bold, colorful, and feminine - all the things I like! So, is there anyone you're looking forward to?
