After the Wedding

It might be a while before I am able to share pictures from my big day, but until then here are some snapshots of the aftermath that a friend caught on his iPhone. My event planner and floral designer were clearing the tables, but even in their unorganized state everything looks so beautiful. I love seeing all the flowers massed on one table, and my animal figurines seem so happy gathered together. It was such a wonderful day, and every image recalls happy memories. Here's one more that sums it all up...

Happy Weekend!

Photobucket
This is what I'd like to be doing for the next two days. Relaxing on a beautiful bed, in a beautiful bedroom, without a care in the world. This is what I'll actually be doing...

Photobucket
... crafting like crazy, but in a much less organized and inspiring space than the one shown here. Ah, the wedding is approaching like a barreling train and there is nothing slowing it down. I can't wait for it to get here, but there simply is not enough time to get everything done. Oh well, what gets done gets done, and what doesn't... doesn't really matter, right?
Anyway, it's good to be back to blogging! I've been away for a while, but decided to hit you with a lot of content before the long weekend. I promise to keep it up going forward, so hopefully no more (or at least fewer) long stretches of away time from me.
I hope you all have a great weekend and that you enjoy some sun and fun. When I'm not making things or desperately shopping for last-minute things, I will be helping my lovely friend (and maid-of-honor) Ingrid with her going-away sidewalk sale. I'm so sad to see her and her family leave Philly, but can't wait to continue our friendship as she lives out there in sunny L.A. I have a feeling there will be many visits out to the west coast in my future... yay!
Have a great one, everyone!

Ted Muehling Jewelry

Ted Muehling makes the most gorgeous jewelry. Period. His handcrafted pieces (not just jewelry, but decorative objects too) are inspired by nature and showcase the beautiful stones and materials from which they are crafted. Now I love big, bold costume jewelry, but it sure is nice to rock a pair of delicate, precious little earrings too. That's why I am featuring some of his lovely dangling earrings today. My sweetie was so thoughtful to gift me with a pair of Muehling's turquoise berries for Christmas, and I will be wearing a pair of his perfect pink pearls (seen at top) on my wedding day. They are exquisite, but not too ridiculous of a splurge, and you will have them forever. You can't buy online, but his lovely eponymously named shop in NYC sells his wares, and in Philadelphia the collection can be found at one of my favorite boutiques, Egan Day. If you have the chance to stop at either store, be sure to peruse the also-fabulous pieces by Gabriella Kiss (who happens to make the most gorgeous engagement and wedding rings...)

As you all know by now, I'm kinda of obsessive about anything Jonathan Adler. And I happen to also love the circus. So these new additions to his Utopia collection are kind of awesome! I want them all - the acrobat, the muscle man, the lion tamer, the clown lady...

New Arcadia Studio

I've been eyeing New Arcadia Studio's super chic collection of barware over at Vivre for a while now. They've recently added some new patterns such as the bold floral prints on the rocks glasses above, which are quite lust-inducing indeed! Oh why can't Macy's or Crate and Barrel carry such distinctive and stylish items...?

Someday...

.. I will have a shiny pink front door, and a glamorous entryway with pink cushions and pink knicknacks! Ah, a girl can dream...

The Shoe of the Summer

Photobucket
If I were to buy one pricey pair of wedges this summer, these from Emporio Armani would be the ones. I love the contrast of the navy blue rope with the red patent leather and the lilac pvc straps. Super chic, with a super high heel... I'm in love!
p.s. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Stepahnie Kao + Robert Siegel Ceramics

Along with my lovely friends Ingrid and Claire, I went to the Art Star Craft Bazaar this weekend for an afternoon of fun craft shopping. By far my favorite booth of the event belonged to designer/illustrator/calligrapher Stephanie Kao and ceramist Robert Siegel. Their joint project "Dentelle et Guirlandes" features gorgeous hand-thrown pottery by Siegel that is embellished with Kao's lacy and delicate designs. I was lucky enough to come away with a glossy pink bud vase adorned with an owl motif similar to the one shown above. Without a doubt, the perfect gift for a friend or for yourself. Check out more at Kao's Etsy site and at Robert Siegel Ceramics...

I know you guys have probably heard all about Terrain, the gorgeous garden and home emporium from our friends at Urban Outfitters. It's a tremendously beautiful and inspiring space located in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, and I am lucky enough to be working there as their events specialist! In addition to the spectacular home store and nursery, Terrain also has a fantastic restaurant called Styer's Garden Cafe which is housed in an antique green house. We host weddings, baby showers, engagement parties, birthday dinners - pretty much any special event that begs for a beautiful setting! This Friday, May 14 from 6-9 pm, we are hosting our first ever Wedding and Event Services Open House. In addition to showcasing our new kitchen and super talented chef, we will feature tablescapes and other special events decor from our Design Services team, festive music and cocktails, and one-on-one event consultations run by yours truly! For those of you who live in the Philadelphia/Wilmington, DE area, I encourage you to stop by and see all that Terrain has to offer. I've attached the event information here... please stop in and say hi, I'd love to see you there!

Tuesday Eye Candy: My Latest Project

Want to see something cute? Actually, two "something cute"s...

Photobucket
Photobucket

These kitty babies have been my latest project for the past 5 weeks. Their mama, Maude, was a stray that I took in for the snowy winter. Little did I know that she was pregnant, and one day I walked in to find her snuggled in the closet with her litter of kittens. Very sadly, Miss Maude died a few days after the delivery, but lucky for us she left us with these two adorable little critters. I've really had my hands full since then - bottle feeding at all hours, etc, etc - but now they are old enough to take care of themselves to some extent, which means I get to enjoy them even more. They've been coming to the office with me every day... you can see them hanging out on my desk here! The brown tabby is Mabel and her sister with the white fur is Maude Jr, or Maudsie, after her mama. I haven't been blogging much lately, and Mabel and Maude are partially why. (Oh, and also my crazy work schedule and the upcoming wedding...) Anyway, enjoy the cuteness!

Tuesday Eye Candy... Pink Sparkles

Photobucket
PhotobucketPhotobucket

I need all of these, particularly the amazing first pair from Ericson Beamon, which, by the way, were definitely NOT in their Target collection. The feathers from cult fashion favorite Isabel Marant might be more in my price range though, and would be the perfect feathery accent for summery dresses...
