Sweet Sentiments...

... from Anna Bond at Rifle Design. I just love her curly fonts and oh-so-charming illustrations. Her recently-opened online shop is chock full of delightful note cards, framable prints, and custom-illustrated calling cards. The last option might be calling my name - how great to have a little business card with my face on it!

Soft and Sunny... and an Amazing Kitchen

Sorry I kind of dropped off the face of the earth last week!  I am still learning to juggle my many new work projects. I'm going to be better starting today though, I swear...

For now I'm sharing these lovely images that I've been staring at for a couple weeks. I love the pale golds and peaches with the charcoal grey and pops of black and white. And the kitchen... dreamy!

Graphic Design Books

I recently picked up Naive: Modernism and Folklore in Contemporary Design, a great book filled with colorful and inspiring graphic design eye candy - and a perfect cover for displaying on the coffee table. A few more on my wish list that might be on yours too: Play Pen: New Children's Book Illustration, Olle Eskel: Swedish Graphic Designer, and The Whimsical Work of David Weidman. Weidman in particular is one of my favorites...

Jeweled Perfection

Swoon! This necklace from J.Crew, a collaboration with super hot jewelry designers FENTON-FALLON, is pretty much perfection don't you think? I might be inclined to wear it every day if I was lucky enough to own it!

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone, I am taking off the rest of the week and will return on Monday, January 4. I want to thank you all for reading this year, and for your many supportive, enthusiastic and entertaining comments. I feel so lucky to have such a cool and talented group of readers (many of whom have far more fantastic blogs than mine) and promise to work very hard in 2010 to keep you inspired by and interested in Peacock Feathers.

So until next week, I hope you all have a fun, festive and safe night tonight and a wonderful New Year!

Barbie by Christian Louboutin

If I had known about this special edition Barbie designed by Christian Louboutin before Christmas, it would have been number one on my wish list! I'm not a doll person by any means, but this Barbie is just too perfect. The designer conceived her as a cat burglar, with a black leather cat suit that perfectly sets off her fours pairs of Louboutin heels (each tiny pair comes with its own box and shoe bag) Love! Priced at $160 and originally available at Net-a-Porter, it is already sold out. But I did some searching on eBay and it is easily available if you are willing to pay between $175 and $200. Not exactly in my budget right now, but I'll keep her on my spring wish list just in case.

Cozy Eclectic

I discovered this amazing home over at Style at Home the other day. I can't get enough of the deft mix of modern/quirky/vintage/cool that is exhibited throughout this loft space. Best of all - the spectacular blackboard wall in the bedroom... gorgeous!

Glam Loft

There's a great video over at Canadian House and Home about mixing bold fabrics with vintage style. I love the loft they feature, which belongs to designer Sabrina Linn. So chic! Check out the video here, and some stills below...

Inspirational Interiors

I hope you all had a fantastic holiday last week! It's been a while since I've posted (the fiancee and I took a trip to Alabama to see the family), so I am happy to be back with a few of my favorite interiors from the inspiration files. Enjoy!

Happy Weekend!

I hope you all have lovely plans this weekend! As for me, I'll be wearing this dress to a holiday party, and it's supposed to snow too - all very festive don't you think?!

Tell me about any holiday parties you've been going to! Are you dressing up? If so, what are you wearing?

Great Layers

How amazing is the styling in the pre-fall 2010 presentation from Diane von Furstenberg? The coats are fab, and I love the layering and the super-cool accessories. I always find it more challenging to be stylish in the winter, but these images are so inspiring and give me ideas for how to look chic and original while braving the less-than-warm weather (yeah, yeah, the bare legs and short shorts aren't going to be happening right now, but that's what tights and coats are for...)

Over the Top

Loving these bold and quirky interiors photographed by Bruce Hemming...
