New Paintings from Vivienne Strauss

I'm coveting these new, slightly darker, oil paintings from the fabulously talented Vivienne Strauss. If you recall, I shared some of her more colorful works back in December. These have a similar sense of humor, but are so much more moody and mysterious. I'd like to add the masked lady to my hallway - I think she would be the perfect counterpoint to my more playful prints. For more, check out Ms. Strauss's etsy store here...

Xmas Wish List... Paintings by Viv Strauss

At the top of my Xmas wish list this year? These chic and charming, delightful and whimsical paintings by Viv Strauss. I've had her Etsy store bookmarked for several months and often find myself daydreaming about an entire hallway filled with her amazing work. I'm crossing my fingers for one or two under my Xmas tree this year. The ultimate though - to have a custom portrait of me and my honey and my four kitties! A girl can dream! ... from Anna Bond at Rifle Design. I just love her curly fonts and oh-so-charming illustrations. Her recently-opened online shop is chock full of delightful note cards, framable prints, and custom-illustrated calling cards. The last option might be calling my name - how great to have a little business card with my face on it!

Wedding Photography - Our Labor of Love by Heidi

Happy Monday, everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting much lately - I've been a bit under the weather and also busy working on some house projects. Anyway, I wanted to give a little wedding update and share with you one of the vendors that will be working with me on my big day!  Heidi from Our Labor of Love is such an amazing photographer. Kevin and I feel ridiculously lucky that she will be capturing all of our wedding moments. This week we are having our engagement photos taken and I literally cannot wait! We have something fun planned, and I look forward to sharing the results with you all. In the meanwhile, take a look at this very small sampling of Heidi's work....

Kevin Waldron Illustration

I love children's book illustrations, and these from UK illustrator Kevin Waldron are about as good as it gets. I love the sweet, funny faces on the animals, the bold use of color, and the spare compositions. The selection here are from Mr. Peek and the Misunderstanding at the Zoo and the forthcoming Owl and the Pussycat. So tempting to order as a gift for a friend with kids, or just for myself!

French Paper Company Posters

French Paper Company is an American paper mill that produces printing, stationary, craft and gift papers - my graphic designer turned me on to them as we are selecting the stock for my wedding save-the-dates. Anyway, while I was perusing the site I came across these wonderful promotional posters that they have recently made available to the public.  I think they are pretty delightful! Definitely perfect for a child's room, or if you are like me, you'll want them for any room in your house....

Rock Posters from The Small Stakes

My last post got me thinking about (and looking for) cool, graphic posters that could possibly find a home in my bathroom. Since I love indie rock posters, it seemed the right time to see what some of my favorite designers currently have to offer. The Small Stakes designs some of the coolest posters out there - they are so bold and clean-lined, and the super-saturated (almost neon) colors would be the perfect accent hanging next to my sink (or really, anywhere in my house!) The variety shown here cost between $25 and $30 and most are currently in stock. Not bad for the amount of graphic panache they will add to a wall!
