Meanwhile, I'm signing off early for the week. I have a wedding to attend in Cape May, NJ - it should be the perfect opportunity to wear some of my most colorful summer clothes and shoes...

I leave you for the weekend with a few bits of eye candy that are making me particularly happy. First of all, I could totally live in the home pictured above. Big windows, oversized artwork, a rattan elephant side table and a shaggy dog ottoman - all in a palette of lilac, pink and yellow? What more could one ask for? 

I'm also desperately craving this Marc Jacobs confection, which can be found at The Outnet (among many other items that would fit perfectly into my closet). Finally, I'm loving this home by Marmalade Interiors that was featured on Made By Girl the other day. A turquoise dresser and purple velvet chair have been added to my home wish list!

I hope you all had a great week! Mine ended on a particularly fun note as I had the opportunity to work with the immensely talented food and lifestyle photographer Courtney Apple....

Courtney spent a day photographing my newly re-decorated house for some upcoming projects that we've been discussing. What a treat to have such an accomplished and talented lady come into my home and apply her creative eye to my various home design projects. It was very flattering, and I can't wait to share the results with you down the road. happy friday + moving things around

I've been moving things around in our living room. It's so small that there aren't many options, but we decided to have the tv and startburst mirror switch walls. In other news, the picture wall is growing! Next time you see it every single inch of that wall will be covered. Also, I think the clutter (i.e. delightful knicknacks) is growing too! See below...

I'm not much for editing. Thankfully the other side of the room is much more restful on the eyes:

Happy Weekend!

This is what I'd like to be doing for the next two days. Relaxing on a beautiful bed, in a beautiful bedroom, without a care in the world. This is what I'll actually be doing...

... crafting like crazy, but in a much less organized and inspiring space than the one shown here. Ah, the wedding is approaching like a barreling train and there is nothing slowing it down. I can't wait for it to get here, but there simply is not enough time to get everything done. Oh well, what gets done gets done, and what doesn't... doesn't really matter, right?

Anyway, it's good to be back to blogging! I've been away for a while, but decided to hit you with a lot of content before the long weekend. I promise to keep it up going forward, so hopefully no more (or at least fewer) long stretches of away time from me.

I hope you all have a great weekend and that you enjoy some sun and fun. When I'm not making things or desperately shopping for last-minute things, I will be helping my lovely friend (and maid-of-honor) Ingrid with her going-away sidewalk sale. I'm so sad to see her and her family leave Philly, but can't wait to continue our friendship as she lives out there in sunny L.A. I have a feeling there will be many visits out to the west coast in my future... yay!

Happy (Sunny) Weekend!

I've had a long week. Work is insane right now, and in my few moments of spare time I try to take care of the many wedding details that are begging for my attention. But this weekend I'm attending my bridal shower, and I can't wait!

Along the way I'm hoping for bright sunshine, a pretty outfit, maybe some flowers...

... a bit of time to relax on the patio and enjoy the freshly planted flower (thanks, Kevin!)...

...and wouldn't it be great to come home to a bedroom like this? A girl can dream!

Before I go, please forgive me for the lack of posts this week...I hate to be away for so long. Hopefully next week will be better. If nothing else, I'll be sharing my amazing wedding invitations which just went into the mail. As soon as my guests receive theirs, I'll be sharing the images with you all!

Here's hoping you all have the loveliest of weekends! I'm going to spend some time relaxing, and am looking forward to spending more time perusing the work of Mrs. Lilien. She's quite the stylist - I love her bright, girly, Palm Beach aesthetic shown in these fun images. Best of all is her wonderful blog over at Mrs. Lilien's Styling House. She puts together fantastic story boards and inspirational wardrobes for her oh-so-creatively imagined characters. The eye candy truly abounds!

Holidays are here!

Thanksgiving is over and with that, the holidays are officially here! Time to decorate and wrap gifts and make wish lists and travel plans! I put a wreath on my front door last night - just a little something sparkly and festive to get me in the mood. How about you? Happy Friday + Holidays are on the way!

I can't believe the holidays are almost here. It's crazy how fast this year has gone by! I mean seriously, my first party of the season is in only two weeks! Of course, this makes me start thinking about what I'm going to wear, and what I want to wear are shiny, sparkly jewel tones - like pretty much everything from the Kate Spade winter collection. The green silk organza dress shown above is particularly tempting! And it would be even cuter with some of these accessories...

Personally, I hope I'm going somewhere tonight that necessitates a sexy clutch like the one on that black dresser! And then maybe tomorrow morning I'll have my cup of hot cocoa, throw on a fab embellished jacket and elbow-length gloves (one of my favorite things), and head out for some flea market-hunting....

What I will definitely be doing this weekend is looking forward to the results of my engagement photo shoot with Heidi from Our Labor of Love. I can't wait to share them with you next week!!

Happy Weekend + House Projects

Here's wishing us all a happy weekend! It's been a crummy end of the week for me, what with the stolen bike, the freezing wet weather, and the fact that I have four (count em) stray cats living on my front stoop that I can't bring in the house because I already have three other cats. I'm hoping it dries out and warms up soon so the homeless kitties (and I) don't have to be so miserable. Anyway, I've got some fun projects to keep me busy until then. I'm doing some redecorating in the master bedroom, and am thinking about painting the dresser white (which is why I've included some inspiration shots above). Also, the awesome #2-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (my alma mater) will be playing tomorrow night and I'll actually be home to watch the game.  So hooray, Roll Tide, and happy weekend to you all!
