Shopping Finds

A few fun things I've picked up recently ...

I have a bit of a thing for cake pedestals...isn't this white one cute with the cut-out trim?  I bought a pair of them at Marshall's for $10 each.  Great deal, and they will be so pretty when I do my next dessert table.

The paperweight is a little treasure by John Derian.  The kitty face looks so cute on my desk!

I'm crazy about these Japanese gardening shears too.  I found them on a sale table at Anthropologie for only $9.95.  The dish towel underneath is from Anthro as well.

Another great deal is this book I found at Barnes & Noble in the clearance section for only $7.  It's a fantastic little book with great photography of closets, offices, and other storage spaces.  If you're in B&N sometime soon, definitely be on the look-out for it...

Meanwhile, these antique framed photographs might be my favorite finds in a long time.  They date from the late-1800s and feature this lovely little girl and her enormous doggie...

I'm in love with the oval frames, but am thinking about painting them a glossy black or maybe a deep green.  Good idea or bad?

Where did you find those framed photos? They are great. I'd leave the frames alone. ~Lisa

I found the photos at Anthropologie. They were hanging on the wall as decor, but turned out they were for sale too.
