New Coffee Table, continued

Photobucket

Here are a few more pictures of the new coffee table. It has turned out to be a great choice for us. I love the glass top, and the bottom shelf is great for magazines and other storage. I also like that it doesn't look like everything you see in West Elm/Ikea/Crate & Barrel/etc. By the way, here is what it looked like before...

I spent about 30 minutes in the freezing cold coating the table in several coats of primer (1 can was enough), and then another can of bright white gloss acrylic. The one good thing about the cold and the wind was that it dried the paint really fast! It was finished and sitting in front of my sofa after about an hour. Another project checked off the list!

It hardly looks like the same table! Don't you just love white spray paint? It can make anything look good.

I love your style, and the table fits so well with the rest of your decor. Very cool.

It looks so great! What a great choice. I have problems imagining something looking nice when it was like you bought it!!
I come from made by Girl cause I LOVE your house design. I need some inspiration to do mine. I'm so bad at this, I'm good in paper and bad in 3d design. But I love your style cause it looks different, welcoming and not so eccentric!
Thanks for sharing!

I have this exact coffee table!

Almost thirty years ago, my parents bought a living room set that included this coffee table and a taller-but-skinnier side table. My boyfriend and I ended up with both of them, I've even got my feet resting on the coffee table's shelf right now.

I've thought about painting them, too.

I've been reading back through your posts and called my boyfriend over from the kitchen to show him yours. :)

Thanks for tharing that, Alexa! It's so cool that you have both tables, and that you didn't have to stalk Craigslist like I did! I wish I had the side table... oh well.

Good luck with the painting, and thanks for scrolling back through my old posts too!
