that looks awesome, I love it! I need something exactly like this in my kitchen but with doors and its nearly impossible to find, I might have to do something like this instead.

Oh, Elizabeth, it looks great! Of course I am lovin those peacocks! And using wrapping paper is a great wallet-friendly idea. Well done!

I forgot to ask what you used to put the wallpaper up? I wanted to do something like this with a small bookshelf I have but I can figure out what to use for adhesive.

Thanks a million!

Thank you all for your very nice comments!

To Linda B, I used a spray craft adhesive. I wasn't sure what to do at first either...was thinking about wallpaper paste or modpodge. But the spray adhesive worked really well!

awesome, thanks for the tip- I'll go out and get some spray adhesive to use!

Wha happened?!? Every time I come over I hardly recognize the place. I need another house tour. BTW - impressive find and what a transformation. I love the details on that shelf i.e. the arches at the top and the drawer at the bottom. I heart scavenging for antique furniture.

Just found your blog and I love it! :) This bookshelf transformation is inspiring me to paint my cheap-o black bookshelf white. Right now it just seems to be sucking all the light out of the room!

And I've been planning for quite a while to add some wallpaper backing. How many sheets of that paper did you use?

Have a great week!
