Wallpaper Fun

Photobucket

It was a lovely Valentine's/Presidents Day weekend! While out Orla Kiely hunting at Target yesterday, I came across a wonderful wallpaper bargain. This aqua and gold print is from their Home Design Event which recently concluded.  At 75% off, I got it for $7.49 a roll! I decided to use it on a small wall section in my living room, so this morning I got down to business. Here's the wall before...

And here it is now...

Subtle, I know. But in person it has a lot more impact. I particularly like how the tree branches give the illusion of height in the room and how the metallic accents reflect light. Now I want to wallpaper the entire room with it! I might have to do a Target run tomorrow to see if I can find more...

And to those of you who favor earthier tones, I noticed many rolls of a plum version with cream and gold flowers. Very chic, and very cheap!

Love it!! What a difference it made, it looks amazing in your family room.

I want some now, I'm making the BF take me to Target tomorrow to see if I can find any left over. I've been dying to do my closet with something funky and this is perfect!

Ok, SHUT up! Seriously! :) That looks PHENOM! Are you suuuuure you aren't an interior designer by full-time career? I'm getting off my rear right now for a trip to Target to investigate other possibly wall-paper supply from the Home Design event.

Unfortunately, no wallpaper remains at my Target. Bummer! I can't even wallpaper my walls (apartment), but would love to use it for something- drawer liners, bulletin board, etc.

Just love it Elizabeth!

I've been so against wallpaper, but I LOVE this one. It looks great! Wow, it's change my mind now. :)

You guys are great! Thanks so much for the positive feedback!

To Amanda - keep your eyes peeled in other Targets. I found my rolls on a clearance end cap, kind of buried with other things.

And to The Pampered World - I'm glad to have changed your mind. Wallpaper can really elevate a room I think! Thanks for commenting and reading....

That wallpaper is so sharp. The colors are lovely--it looks like it was made just for your house! Did you paper the sides of that little bump-out or just the flat front part where the pictures are?

And did you find any more Orla Kiely??

Just found your blog - love your posts! And I do love that wall you just did... I saw that paper in Target but didn't have anywhere to put it, but i love how you did it on just a small wall. So smart!

What a great backdrop for your pictures! And the coffee table is a nice addition. I enjoy seeing your love of color through pictures. Your talent and eye are untapped!

Hi There! Luv your blog!

I'm just now finding this post! I too have this wallpaper. What a great Target find eh?

I've had mine for almost 2 years and am just now finding a great purpose for it...framed wallpaper panels above my bath tub. Keep an eye out on my blog for the finished product :)
