A few of you have asked me about my wedding photos. Oh how I wish I could share them with you, but for the moment I have to keep them under wraps! In the meanwhile, here are a view glimpses of wedding decor that have found a new home in my home. These amazing striped banners are some of my favorite pieces from the whole wedding. Created as welcome banners to flank the main entrance to the ceremony, they were custom-made by my colleague Matt Muscarella with gorgeous calligraphy by Melissa Kistler. Now they hang in my guest bedroom over the pillow-strewn daybed. The kittens seem to approve, and so do I...

Scenes from my work
I don't typically share too much about my work here, but this space is just too cute not to show off! At Terrain, we have this wonderful historic mushroom hut that is available as an event space. For larger occasions such as weddings, we might use it as an unexpected spot for a dessert table. But what it's really perfect for is a small, private dinner for maybe 10 people. Wouldn't you love to have a little birthday dinner in here with some close friends and family? It's particularly lovely at night when it's lit by candlelight and the breeze is blowing in. Here are a few shots from a special dinner party I put together recently...
Our potting sink, but cleared out so we could fill the basin with ice and use it as a makeshift wine cooler...
Casual arrangements of sunflowers in white hobnail vases...
Mismatched side tables for holding wine glasses and pitchers of water...
And you can't not have an eye-catching arrangement of bold flowers - when I saw these alliums at the flower market I knew I had to have them...

More scenes from my house
Wingard vase, John Derian decoupage plate, Owly Shadow Puppets puppet theater, fabric terrarium by Paper Satchel, and mason jar with vintage brooches used in my wedding bouquet
Our office/music room/guest bedroom, with new cotton panel drapes from Ikea (they used to be cobalt blue...yikes)
A cute lion figurine (used as place card at my wedding)
The vintage brooches used in my wedding bouquet!
Kittens lounging (and wrestling!) on the daybed...
Another view of the daybed, and some of my vintage blue mason jars
And here's a new piece I found for my 3rd floor hallway. This corner has been empty (except for the chandelier) for a while now, and so when I saw this little desk on the side of the road I couldn't help but bring it home. Still not sure about the styling - I think it needs something round hanging above it instead of the two small framed prints. Also, the colors are a little all over the place and there are too many random knicknacks. But I love the old mason jars next to the Hermes box... that's staying...

Guaranteed...
This will be THE wedding shoe of 2011, no doubt about it. The new, turquoise version of the cobalt blue, Manolo Blahnik stunner first seen in Sex in the City... it is simply perfection. I might have even considered it for my big day, but I feel pretty good about the ones I ended up with....

Fashion Finds
I love seeing people's collections. And the collections that Herve Pierre, creative director for Carolina Herrera, has amassed are beyond delightful - stacks and stacks of iconic orange boxes, vintage designer hat boxes, and many more things that make my heart go pitter patter. Love, love, love...

John Derian for Target... on Gilt!
Is everyone excited for the new John Derian collection at Target? As you know, I was a big fan of the last go-around. This collection seems even better - I'm loving the silhouette plates, and the trays shown above are truly delightful.
The new pieces won't be in stores until September 5, but starting this Friday, my favorite online sample sale, Gilt.com, is hosting a pre-sale of not only the John Derian collection, but also the new collaborations from Tucker and Mulberry! What a great opportunity to shop the lines without having to drive to eight different Targets.
Oh, and if you need a Gilt invite, click here and you will be all set....

Love this look! It's so charming. I need to find a spare wall in my house to do this...
